Quarry Hils darebin Creek wednesday 28 dec 2016

Decided to hop on the bike on wednesday and just keep riding North so i rode up the darebin Creek till around Mt Cooper then continued to the ring rd  followed this till i hit the Northern Section of the darebin crk trail which continues thru Lalor its mostly Concrete now till you get to some footy ovals where it join henderson Creek  which gets you to sth morang train line i just continued north as i havent been up up this way for a while there is a section that has been left as freeway reserve likely never to used for this

I found my way to quarry Hills which MBTC did back in September  a nice ride to do on much cooler day than when i did it at 35c
there are about 4 look outs its right between epping and Mill park lakes
@ Quarry Hills from the first look out

Craigeburn

Starting from Preston ride up through the back streets  Reservoir past Edwardes park lake this is a good spot for a BBQ in the warmer months we join the Metro creek trail up to the ring road which we follow to the east we cross a bridge it's a at the bottom it's a sharp left turn  then you are riding beside the Hume fwy this section of path is concrete but the movement joins have been badly done so it's like 1.5m cobblestones it's not like this all the way just in sections  this take you all the way to craigieburn there are a couple sets of traffic lights to cross that's about it we pass Melbourne New fruit and vegetables wholesale market as well .
And new sub divisions the more you do this ride you see Melb grow some more.
General you take the path all the way to craigieburn Cross the Hume Hwy on the other side you will find more path which head s south beside the Hume follow this around to the creek cross the first bridge you see on the left this takes you to Craigieburn shopping shopping centre there are a couple of bakerys Here I would recommend Fergison Plaire  on the western side .
From here you need to navigate your way through to Roxborough park there are path's every where .When this is done you will find your way to the Shankland valley trail which leads on to moonee ponds creek trail this is the route we followed till we got to to the north side of the ring road

We still had some light rain  by the time we got off the bus at Merridden but it was good to get back on the bike after we had some lunch ....
